and now for something a little different. i’m just elated to share with you a behind-the-scenes of the new documentary film, ‘small work’ that was made one extraordinary day at the end of this may here at appleturnover farm.
now, at this moment i’m suffering a run of severe insomnia so in the name of imperfectionism i am going to resort to more or less misquoting myself from another more eloquent moment:
i’ve been making experimental video pieces since art school, and video installation was the medium i chose for a solo exhibition and several group shows after it, but i learned to create every part of a documentary by making my own tiny films. even composing music, eventually even editing.
so it was a sheer delight to simply be on camera and collaborating with a filmmaking team in action here last month. what a team, and all those who have played a part in post-production, just wow. they have made such a piece - i cannot wait to show you. not long now.
really, not long now!
